Schooling has a major influence on our society in general. We all have a lifelong relationship with school. Many of us spend close to our first two decades of our lives in school. After we are done our income potential, friend group, and the community in which we live can be based on the level of school we have achieved. If we have children, we are again linked to schools for another twenty to thirty years as we encourage them in their studies. The design of our work week, hierarchical structures and job expectations are based on a school model. Learning is at the cornerstone of our society and a reflection of our future.
